Lakeside Vol. Rescue Squad is hosting a hybrid EMT course in conjunction with the Old Dominion EMS Alliance and is now accepting applications online!
The Online EMT course is designed to be flexible to meet students’ needs. Instead of committing to 2 or 3 nights per week for several months, not to mention the time on the road to and from class, this class uses a Learning Management System (LMS) to present material. The class does require that students engage in readings and online learning such as video lectures and interactive assignments, but this can be done at the convenience of the student.
Students will have to attend skill labs in person at Lakeside Rescue. Skill labs start September 6, 2018, and will meet every Thursday night for the remainder of the course. The class will also meet on select Saturdays during the program. All labs will meet at the Lakeside Volunteer Rescue Squad at 2007 Timberlake Avenue, Henrico, VA 23228.
***There is a MANDATORY class meeting August 30, 2018, at Lakeside Volunteer Rescue Squad. Students MUST attend this session, which will be held from 6:30 PM to 10 PM.
This course is transferable. At the end of this course, students successfully completing this course sit for the National Registry of EMTs (NREMT) exam. They gain Virginia EMT certification and NREMT certification. The NREMT certification allows students to gain reciprocity as an EMT in most states in the US.
Class starts September 6, 2018
